Parkside Living FAQ: about the building
Where is Parkside Living?
We’re at 8 Hutt Lane in Thorold, just off St. Davids Street, right next to McMillan Park.
How many suites are there?
Parkside is a boutique building with 34 suites. The first floor has 2 suites, while every other floor has 8, so it stays quiet and private.
What size are the suites?
Every suite has 2 bedrooms and is around 1,000 sq ft. Suites have 1 or 2 bathrooms, depending on the layout. See every floor plan on our Suites page.
What finishes are included?
Every suite includes quartz counters and stainless steel appliances. In addition, you get modern bathrooms and a private balcony or terrace.
Rent and utilities
How much is rent at Parkside Living?
2 bedroom suites currently start at $2,345 per month. For prices on every available suite, see our Suites page. Also, ask about move-in offers when you book your tour.
What utilities do I pay?
Carma bills hydro and water. Because the building is all-electric, there’s no gas bill.
What about internet?
Bell and Cogeco both service the building, so you can choose the provider you like.
Do I need tenant insurance?
Yes, every resident needs tenant insurance.
Parking and getting around
Is there parking?
Yes. The building has 41 parking spots, and one spot is $50 a month.
Is there visitor parking?
Yes, there’s visitor parking on site. However, snow clearing takes up some visitor spots in winter, so guests should use the spot by the entrance pylon.
Is there EV charging?
Not yet. However, the parking already has rough-ins for future EV chargers. Let us know if you need EV charging.
Is there bike storage?
Yes, there are bike racks at the front of the building.
How close is transit?
The St. Catharines GO Station and Hwy 406 are minutes away, and Brock University is about 4 km from the building.
Everyday living
Is laundry in the suite?
Yes. Every suite has its own in-suite washer and dryer.
How do deliveries work?
Parcels go to a secure locker in the vestibule, so your packages are safe until you get home.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, pets are welcome at Parkside Living.
Can I barbecue on my balcony?
No. For safety reasons, the building doesn’t allow barbecues on balconies.
How does garbage and recycling work?
Residents use the large outdoor bins on site.
Are there storage lockers?
Not at this time. Instead, many residents use the second bedroom as an office or storage room.
Moving in
How do I book the elevator?
You’ll get a booking link to reserve a 2.5-hour window between 8 am and 6 pm. Also, the elevator has protective padding for moves.
Which entrance do I use to move in?
All move-ins go through the front door.
How do I apply?
